Thursday, February 9, 2023
5:30 PM–7:30 PM
Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History
Fleischmann Auditorium
Members are invited to go deeper into the background and legacy of the stunning photogravures in our special exhibition Storytelling: Native People through the Lens of Edward S. Curtis. Museum Librarian Terri Sheridan and Associate Curator of Anthropology Brian Barbier, M.A., will answer your questions and discuss the context in which Curtis worked, how it relates to anthropological approaches of his time, and how today’s anthropologists view this nascent period of their discipline. Enjoy beer, wine, and light appetizers during this Members-only evening.
At the Naturalist level or above? Call 805-682-4711 ext. 114 or email membership@sbnature2.org to reserve two tickets for free.
